Roy and Laura Wolf

First Generation

Our story began when Roy Wolf married Laura (nee, Trott) in 1938. Roy started a new career as a Standard Oil agent in Slinger, Wisconsin just 3 years later.

Ed and Minette Wolf

Second Generation

In 1970 Roy retired from the business that he founded and grew for nearly 30 years—his grit and determination set the foundation for present day Wolf. Roy passed the keys to Ed and he became the new Standard Oil agent. Ed and Minette (nee, Sprehn) had wed 8 years prior in 1962.

Craig Wolf and Colette Troeller (nee, Wolf)

Third Generation

In 2005, after 35 years of relentless development and excellence, Ed and Minette passed the torch to two of their children: Craig and Colette. The third generation brings unprecedented growth through acquisitions, product and service expansion, and the launch of an in-house equipment division.

Ethan Wolf and Holly Lemmer (nee, Troeller)

Fourth Generation

In 2019, Ethan (Craig's son) and Holly (Colette's daughter) became co-owners of the company. Operations and ownership of Wolf are split between the third and fourth generations, which allows each to focus on the continued growth and success of the business. The fourth generation brings a renewed focus on embracing advancements in technology and innovation—ensuring Wolf remains efficient, forward-thinking, and competitive in a rapidly evolving industry.

Here’s our story so far.

1938

Roy and Laura (nee: Trott) met in 1930 and were united in marriage in Hartford, Wisconsin in 1938.

1941

Roy and Laura move to Slinger, Wisconsin, where Roy became a Standard Oil agent.

1950

Roy's son Ed joined the business. Ed held many tasks from truck driving to burner service repair.

1962

Ed married Minette (nee: Sprehn) and they had 4 children: Linnette, Eddie (Jr.), Craig & Colette.

1970

Roy retired from the business and Ed became the new Standard Oil agent.

1976

Edward H. Wolf & Sons, became incorporated. Edward and Minette worked together to grow the business.

1986

Edward H. Wolf & Sons, Inc. corporate office moved to the Slinger, Wisconsin from Ackerville. The office was is in the once abandoned railroad depot.

1988

Craig Wolf finished his business degree and joined the company, at which Colette Wolf also finished her post high school education. Colette would later join the company in 1996.

Acquisition

2003

Edward H. Wolf & Sons, Inc. acquired Tilot Oil in Green Bay, Wisconsin. There was also an extensive addition made to the Slinger office.

2005

The end of an era—Edward and Minette officially retired from the company and Craig and Colette acquired the business.

2011

Celebrating 70 years of business.

Acquisition

2013

Edward H. Wolf & Sons, Inc. acquired Hopson Oil in Waukesha, WI.

2018

Our Slinger headquarter goes through a substantial expansion. Two new buildings are built—a 15,000 square foot office and a 31,400 square foot warehouse.

2019

Ethan Wolf (Craig’s son) and Holly Lemmer (Colette’s daughter, nee: Troeller) are officially 4th generation owners.

2021

Acquisition

2022

Edward H. Wolf & Sons, Inc. acquired Zurbuchen Oil (Z-Oil) in Verona, WI.

2023

Edward H. Wolf & Sons, Inc. acquired Wolf Brothers Fuel in Richfield, WI. There was no previous relation between the two companies despite sharing a namesake of Wolf.

Edward H. Wolf & Sons, Inc. acquired Levnhagen Corporation in Neenah, WI, expanding our footprint in the Fox Valley.
